The God Given Strength
Judges 6:13-16 King James Version (KJV)
And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee? And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house. And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
It looks like a typical hopeless situation and behold, God appears to Gideon and gives him words or encouragement and strength. Many a times we, like Gideon wonder and ask, why have these happened to me/us? Haven't there been times that we try to overlook what God has in store for us and think that He has forsaken us and even to the point of delivering us to the hands of our enemies!! Ain't that silly?
Look at the sweet reply from God - Go in the strength that you already have!! Really? Will the strength that I HAVE be enough? Don't I need more strength? Don't I need more that what i have today? Don't I need more finance to handle this situation? Don't I need more encouragement to take the step ahead? Don't I need more loving people around to prosper?
The answer is a clear NO! Even if you are the weakest, smallest or the least capable, HE IS ABLE!! The knowledge of Him being ABLE is truly divine. Paul writes it this way in Philippians 3:8 "..I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:"
What are the 5 loaves that God has placed in your hands? Take it forward and move ahead. Go in the strength that God has given you. Do not get frustrated for what you haven't yet received. God does everything well at His appropriate time..
Have a blessed day!
